On 6th April 2014, the Katgara family, owners of the 114 year old Jeena & Company set up the Katgara Polytechnic Institute in collaboration with Gokhale Education Society, leaders in the field of education, based in Bordi since 1920. The Polytechnic Institute is at Bordi, Thane district of Mumbai and caters to 800 students providing five streams of three year Engineering Diploma Courses for Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The Gokhale Education Society caters to the education of over 8000 students from Thane, Dahanu, Jawahar and surrounding areas.

The Katgara family's ties with Gholvad and Bordi go back three generations, when Mr. Jehangirji Pallonji Katgara received Kapadia Cottage in Gholvad from Rustomji Kapadia, the father of his wife, Shirinbai. Little did he know then, that generations after him would cherish the cottage and spend many happy holidays there.

The late Mr. Adi Jehangirji Katgara who loved Gholvad, always wanted to do something special for the people of Gholvad and Bordi. He was a true philanthropist who went out of his way to help all those who approached him, often offering simple advice to solve complex issues.
